Aly's Newsletter: Special Saturday Edition!
Hope you had (or are having, since I'm writing this mid-weekend), a good weekend!
First of all, super apologies for not posting yesterday afternoon. I was very very much in the height of Black Friday content and lost track of time. But better late than never, right?
In cooking news, I got to play with a new kitchen gadget today — Ninja sent me their new Foodi XL Pressure Cooker Steam Fryer with SmartLid to play with and it is SO fun. It has like 14 different settings, everything from air frying to pressure cooking and slow cooking and so much more. I used it today to make pot roast for my family (it’s my mom’s birthday this weekend!), and it was great because it allowed me to try out it’s sear/saute functions but also slow cooking. The whole recipe is on my Instagram stories, but here’s a preview:
As we're in the height of holiday content season, no rest for the wicked this week, and I'm coming to you today with everything I'm working on (currently) for early next week.
1 - For Today.com, I'm rounding up spots around the country (at chain grocery type places) where you can score a free turkey. This is most often deals where you spend a certain amount of $$ in a week or a month at the store and you earn a turkey, but there's other types of promos going on as well. If you represent a store doing this, please be sure to be clear about all the parameters - what you need to do, what you get, how you get it, etc.
2 - For Spy.com, I'm working on the following:
-- Black Friday deals at Home Depot -- Looking for all sorts of deals across the store.
-- Best Places to buy Christmas trees online
--- Best self-defense keychains -- These can be both personal safety alarms and tools you can use to fight an attacker like pepper spray or pointed tools.
-- Best appliance sales for Black Friday/Cyber Monday - this is only at major retailers - but open to Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc
--- Kitchen fire extinguishers
3. For Forbes.com, I've already published three holiday gift guides in the past week, but I have two I'm still working on:
I'd love pitches for cleaning gear (esp for kitchen)
also - mail-order dinners/dishes (the kind of stuff you can order online and have shipped to someone's house for the holiday - say bagels and lox, or pastrami, or steaks or lobster or just pie from their fave bakery, whatever.
Here's some stuff that has published in the last day:
Next Century Spirits
have a great night <3
