Aly's Newsletter: TGIF Edition
Hello friends, and happy Friday!
First of all, to all my Jewish friends and anyone else who may be celebrating L'shana tova!
I realize we're still a few days out - but as the weekend spills into Labor Day, which then feeds directly into Rosh Hashanah, this may be the last time I post before the holiday! (Well, maybe. Don't be surprised if I do!)
To that end, I will be sharing lots of cooking videos on Instagram over the next few days leading into the holiday and on the holiday itself - so please stay tuned and message me with any special requests or recipe questions!
I also want to thank you SO much for reaching out and checking in these last few days to make sure both myself and my family are OK following the hurricane. It was so incredibly appreciated and I value each and every one of you who cared enough to send a message.
I will tell you one thing - after years of not having a lot of nice things to say about living in a super tiny studio apartment and it being a 4th floor walkup, I was suddenly rather glad to live in that walkup apartment and not the even-smaller basement apartment I lived before this one (I'd have been...toast).
To happy things in the year ahead...
Here's some stories I'm currently working on (if you no longer see a story as pending, that means I've either submitted it or gotten enough sources to wrap it up. Early bird does get the worm!
)1 - For All Recipes, I'm rounding up back to school gifts for college students. While I will obviously, due to the outlet, feature a good amount of cooking centric gift ideas, we are NOT limited to cooking centric, and any back to school gifts for college-aged kids are fair game. Must be from a major online retailer.
2 - For CheapTickets.com, I'm still looking for travel experts to answer a few questions about travel pitfalls to avoid for the young/inexperienced traveler
3 - For Today.com, I'm still looking for freebies/deals/promotions in honor of National Cheeseburger Day at chain restaurants.
Here's some stories that were published in the last few days...

PS: I want to also want to take a second to shout out my dear friend (of about twenty years!) Kristin Russo who just today published her very first freelance writing piece (for Stylist UK!) - it’s about her work in pole dancing and it came out BEAUTIFUL. Please check it out.
(PS: Said Chianti Day celebrating tonight will actually also be celebrating this.)
