Aly's Story Leads, Source Needs, And Random Musings Of The Day
Hi everyone!
For years, I’ve gotten emails from publicists and sources asking to be added to my distribution list, and be informed of what I am currently working on.
At the time, I was kind of confused — people do that? How? Why? There’s no doubt there’s some very valuable tools already at our disposal to share leads and source requests, but the ability to send out a quick comprehensive email and just land in everyone’s inbox sounds like a timesaver — for everyone!
My brilliant BFF Bryce Gruber recently started her own Substack to share opps , and she has been coaxing me for a few days now to start my own to share my own leads. I’m finally doing it! Maybe eventually i’ll make this space look a bit prettier - but for now - it’s pretty bare bones but gets the job done.
So, just for starters, here’s what I’m working on today and accepting pitches for.
For Forbes.com, I’m looking for stovetop coffee/espresso kettles, and barista commentary about them.
For The Usage, from Merriam-Webster, I’m rounding up the following:
best portable chargers
best lightning cables
best iron (for clothes)
For each, I’m looking for products sold on major online retailers only. Please send a description and specs, but no images or further info is necessary unless I get back to you.
For Eat This, Not That, I’m looking for credible nutrition, health, and medical professionals to comment on causes of belly fat, what the risks are, and what we can do about it (please email me for actual questions I have before sending commentary).
And please join my Substack! I’ll be honest, I have no idea how any of this works quite yet, but in my brain it’s going to be a great quick and dirty way to send out an email with everything I’m working on daily and also sometimes stuff like where I’m traveling and stuff I have going on in work/life. This is very useful now that I’m traveling again and sometimes I end up with a rapid-turnaround assignment while in some van on a rural highway with spotty internet connection between distilleries…
