Here's What Aly Is Working On This Weekend
(Also, here's a bunch of new recipes!)
I'm back in Brooklyn and spending my weekend attempting to play a bit of catch up. This applies both to getting work done and plenty of doggie cuddle time!
Here's what I'm working on this weekend for Monday and early next week:
1 - For Eat This, Not That, I'm rounding up Everyday Habits That Spoil Your Body, Say Experts. By this I don't mean "spoil your body rotten" - as in being really good to it, but rather, say, spoiled in the sense of milk it's time to throw out. So I'd love credible medical experts to weigh in on what these habits are, why they are spoiling your body, and what to do about them/reversing the effect. Linking to credible research/studies that back up your thoughts is always appreciated.
2 - For YourTango, I'm working on a story on how not to get scammed buying a designer watch online - if experts want to weigh in, I have a list of questions ready to send them. (Full disclosure - I had an expert fall through at the 11th hour on this, so I won't have a lot of time to play with this story.)
3 - For Merriam-Webster's The Usage, I'm working on both single serve coffee makers (https://www.merriam-webster.com/theusage/best-single-serve-coffee-maker) and beverage coolers (https://www.merriam-webster.com/theusage/best-beverage-cooler) this weekend. These are pre-existing stories I've actually already written and published for the site - but we're adding a few additional items to each of those roundups. Must be from major online retailers, ideally Amazon.
4 - Also for YourTango, I'm working on How To Deal With An Itchy, Burning Vagina - I have a list of questions I'd love to ask a credible medical professional over email that will focus on causes of vaginal itching and burning, remedies, and so forth. Please don't send any commentary before I send my questions I need answered (you'll just be wasting your client's time!)
5 - For Next Century Spirits, I'm doing a story on What The Rise in To-Go Alcohol Means for the Spirits Industry. I'd love experts to weigh in on what to-go alcohol is, what has been happening with it lately in the U.S. (many states have legalized it, when previously restaurants could not offer alcohol to-go), and (3) why it matters to spirits providers, and also how this may create opportunity to create new products.
For ALL of these, I'd love responses to my questions/queries by Monday afternoon - and by email. email@example.com - please no DMs!
Here's what has been published since yesterday:
Eat This, Not That
PS: Tonight, I'm making roast turkey breast and cauliflower (both in my air fryer!) - and on the side, my grandma's kasha varnishkes.
Follow along on my Instagram stories for all the recipes! Just my little way of saying thanks so much for taking the time to read my email on a weekend.
