Here's what Aly is working on today (Friday edition!)
Happy Friday!
I was so excited to see so many people subscribed after my initial post yesterday. It really made me feel so loved! Hopefully these quick email blasts are as helpful for everyone reading them as they already have been for me.
Some quick opportunities:
1 - I'm working on a Forbes.com roundup of best wines from California for sipping as we transition into fall. If you have any that may work, I'd love you to email me the name of the wine, some tasting notes, an image of a bottle and also a link or two to places online it can be purchased. I'll be accepting pitches for this one through 8/12. Thanks so much. Emails only -alywalansky@gmail.com
1b - For Forbes, I am still looking to be pitched stovetop coffee makers available online (think along the lines of the Moka pot). I already have enough expert commentary though!
2 - For The Usage, I am working on a roundup of the best lightning cables. If you have any to pitch, please email me with a description, any relevant specs, and a link to a major online retailer where they are currently in stock. Preference goes to options like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, etc. By Sunday please.
Since so many of the emails in my inbox are follow ups asking if stories that were pending have published yet, I thought I would also share links of some stories that have published this week. If your client is in these stories, I very much appreciate any social media shares!

And now for some fun stuff!
As promised, I said I was going to try to share some new fun things I am cooking, so I wanted to link you to the latest recipe I shared on my Instagram stories. Last night, I made a fun stuffed poblano in my air fryer. If you can get to my Instagram before last night's stories expire, the recipe is yours for the taking!
Next week I'll be working remotely from Sonoma on my first press trip since Feb 2020! (Hence the California wines story I'm working on for Forbes next week...).
As press trips (and how they are different in a post-lockdown era) as been a hot button topic of late, I promise to share as much as I can on my social media and in my newsletter about how things feel -- the good, the bad, the different, and the strange. Maybe it can be helpful for people planning their own trips in the weeks and months to come as we all try to navigate this strange new world.
Bryce and I did a Clubhouse room the other night for our Mastering Media club focused on the topic of this (as well as events and press dinners) and some very interesting points were made on all sides of the spectrum - so it'll be really interesting to go into the field (so to speak) with that conversation fresh in my mind!
I’ll have very limited downtime in Livermore on Tuesday afternoon/evening, and in San Francisco Friday AM, so let me know if there’s anything you think I should check out. (But Wednesday/Thursday in Sonoma are 100% booked already with my press trip itinerary.)
That's it for today, have a wonderful weekend!
