How To Send An Engaging And Effective Media Mailer
Happy Snowy Saturday, friends!
...Does anyone know who Alta Marketing is?
My UPS tracking says later this week, I'm expecting a 50-pound package from them, and I have no idea who it is, or what they are sending. As 50 pounds is pretty impossible for me to carry/living wise (YOU try carrying it up 4 flights of winding stairs, let alone find space for whatever it is in a teeny tiny apartment...) I'd love a connection so I can tell them to not send. (And FYI guys, if you have anything big and heavy to send, don't do it before asking first. It's weird and rude and unnecessary.)
This is actually a lead in to the topic I was already planning to discuss in my paid newsletter this weekend...proper practices when sending media mailers. Editors and writers receive hundreds of media mailers each week, and you handling this in the most effective way is the best way to not be part of the clutter, but something that is well received and leads to press opportunities for you.
