Industry Insights: Here's Why You Weren't Included In That Story

As you probably saw from the recently published article links over the last few days, I had a LOT of content go live for various outlets this past week...and a lot of those stories were related to expert commentary, cocktails, or product roundups.
These types of stories inevitably result in an immediate influx of emails along the line of the following:
Hey Aly,
Saw your <insert story> go live. Would you have any feedback as to why <brand/product/expert> was not included?
I get it: You are busy, and took the time to pitch. Now you are disappointed. Or your client is disappointed. But believe it or not, the reason you were not included is often not a reflection of you, your client, or your pitch. There's a whole lot of factors at play.
