Industry Insights: How To Send An Email A Busy Journalist (With A Packed Inbox) Will Want To Open
Hi, everyone!
Hope you are having either the most relaxing or the most productive Saturday that you hope to be having!
A popular question when I host consulting sessions is related to the topic of emails — how many I get in the average day (more than you can imagine!), how I organize and sort through them, and how to make an email get noticed.
Basically…how I stay on top of it all.
The answer is: I try my best, but I’m not sure that I do!
But I can tell you that when I get hundreds of emails a day (during gift guide time, it can teeter close to 1K), not all emails do get read. And some emails do get prioritized.
So, I wanted to take this opportunity to give a little intel on how to write an email that I (and other writers) will be more likely to open sooner, read, and want to respond to.
