Happy Saturday!
Readers of my daily free newsletter probably noticed I was working on a few various food/cocktail roundups this week. These stories often involve people sending me a few photos as part of the deliverables for consideration.
For the most part, everyone does a great job, and I am so grateful to all of you for not making my job harder (I get a lot of emails!).
Most people pitching for these guides send high-quality photos and are sure to all the parameters I require - credits, high-res, file format preferences, delivery preferences, etc…but sometimes things go pretty awry.
It’s at times like these that I get batches of photos with file names like “screen capture” or “image render,” I get attachments or embeds when I ask for links, I get photos without credits or the wrong credits, and so forth…
There’s also other occasional issues, such as I’ll click on a photo link and discover the permissions have been set so I can’t view it. Or the photo link goes to nowhere altogether…thereby forcing me to scramble or move on to the next email…
I want to be able to include your client — and yes, sometimes that does come down to how you send those photos…so, I thought for today’s newsletter, I’d help you out with a quick and easy guide of things to consider when sending photos for submission for a story…
